Application Guidelines

Application Temperature:
40°F to 100°F (5°C to 38°C)
Service Temperature Range:
-30°F to 200°F
Method of Application:
Apply mixture with masonry tools to level and fill voids in the old surface. Use a squeegee for sealing concrete.
Application Directions:
All surfaces must be free from dust, dirt, oil, grease and wax.
Add 2½ gallons of Titebond Concrete Primer to a 94 lb. bag of portland cement and three equal parts of sand. To a pre-mixed 80lb. bag of cement and sand or aggregate, add 2 quarts of Primer. For smaller amounts, reduce the amount of Primer in proportion; to 40 lbs. of dry mix and sand, add one quart of Primer. More Primer may be used, but under no circumstances use less than the amounts prescribed above.
Special Gyp-Crete Instructions:
In order to properly glue down wood flooring to Gyp-Crete or lightweight concrete, the surface must be primed with Titebond Concrete Primer. For this application, the Primer must be applied at a rate of 400 square feet per gallon using a mix of one-part clean water and two part Primer. Apply evenly with a squeegee, brush, roller or spray. Allow 45 minutes or more before applying a second coat. Allow to dry 24 hours before applying adhesive over the primer/sealer. For additional concerns regarding job site conditions, moisture or specific applications, call Franklin International Technical Service at 1-800-347-4583.
Cleanup:
Water when wet; dried film can be scraped.
Limitations:
Titebond Concrete Primer is formulated specifically for use with various Franklin International flooring adhesives. While it will perform satisfactorily with other adhesives, it can be hardened or softened by the solvents in some adhesives. If there is any question about the adhesive being used in conjunction with Titebond Concrete Primer, consult Franklin International Technical Service at 1-800-347-4583 or perform the following test: Apply a small amount of concrete mixture to the surface and allow it to dry at least 3-5 days. Bond an assembly with the adhesive you intend to use and allow to set for 72 hours. Separate the assembly and inspect the glue line. If the bond is strong and the adhesive is firm, you should have no problems.
